preparation & ingredients
Once you receive your macaroni and cheese shipment, it’s ready to be prepared for this recipe! No additional cooking needed. If you’ve allowed it to come to temperature or if you are using your own homemade macaroni and cheese, allow the mixture to cool in the refrigerator until firm, about 2-4 hours.
Using a small cookie scoop or melon baller, scoop 1-1.5 inch balls of macaroni and set aside on a plate.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large stockpot or Dutch oven over medium heat until it has reached 355 F.
Next, set up your breading station by pouring the breadcrumbs into a shallow bowl. Next to that, beat the eggs in another shallow bowl.
Working one at a time, dip each ball first into the eggs and then dredge through the breadcrumbs, pressing to coat each evenly. Set aside on a plate.
Working in batches, add the balls to the hot oil and be careful not to overcrowd.
Allow to cook for 3-5 minutes until each ball is evenly golden and crispy.
Transfer to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate using a slotted spoon.
Serve hot and enjoy!
