The founders of Barnacle Foods, Matt and Lia, were both raised in Juneau, Alaska and have always been fascinated and inspired by the edibles found locally and in the coastal waters.
The kelp they use is harvested by hand from healthy wild kelp beds and ocean farms. Kelp is a renewable resource that requires no fertilizer, fresh water, or land to grow.
Kelp is considered a nutrient dense food and a great source of both macronutrients and micronutrients.
Matt and Lia make all of their foods locally in Juneau to keep the value of what they do in the community.
