THE SCOOP: 15 years ago, Amy Scherber launched a little bread shop on a rough and tumble 9th Avenue block in aptly-named Hell's Kitchen. Hedging her bets on the fantastic breads she baked in this tough New York 'hood, she came out a winner. Today, one of her 3 shops is just 2 doors away from Murray's on Bleecker Street!

WHY NOW?: We sat down with Amy and explained the dire need for good bread outside of NYC. She's as sympathetic as we are. So we tasted and tested her breads a day out of the ovens. Then, she developed a new bag, we created refreshing instructions and we tasted and tested again. And…Whoa. Everyone is our office ate it all day long (with sea salted butter, natch). It's enough to satisfy even those of us who get it hours old each day. We guarantee you'll love it or we'll refund your dough (both kinds).
